Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere!

According to the Williams-Sonoma catalog, November means an unabashed love affair with anything pumpkin. Spiced waffles, cheesecake and the beautiful bundt, fall means spinning in the kitchen whipping up a gaggle of everything gourd related.

If you abhor the thought of getting your hands dirty for dessert, simply snag some Pumpkin Paws and place them on a pretty plate. Prepped pumpkin and fresh butter, cream, soft caramel, almonds and Guittard milk chocolate. If the question should arise from a guest, “Did you make these?” simply smile and change the subject by pointing out your gorgeous harvest themed table top.

I spoke of the importance of bringing back the toast or simply finding a poem that defines a gathering when I visited Distinctive Chesterfields and offered advice on at-home entertaining. For a hearty fall meal that includes chili, I happily suggest reading this verse while glasses are raised:

Beans, beans, the musical fruit

The more you eat, the more you toot

The more you toot, the better you feel

Beans, beans for every meal!

Yes, yes, I know beans are not a fruit, but the key is to always make your event memorable. As laughter ensues, sit back and enjoy the merry making you have created. Do you have a favorite toast, prayer or song you like to share at get-togethers?
